A short course on feed formulation a training for farmers and extension agents from 27th September to 1st October 2021.
- To equip participants on the theoretical and practical aspects of livestock feed production, feed processing, feed formulation, and quality control. It will enable practitioners to formulate feeds that meet the supply of all the nutrients required by farm animals.
- Areas covered were:
- identify locally available raw materials and their nutritional values to optimize their use in livestock nutrition
- Assess animal’s nutritional needs depending on production
- Know the nutrients and their functions that are required to formulate animal feeds at least cost.
- Formulate feed rations for respective livestock species
- Produce, secure quality feeds pastures, and fodders for animal feeding
