Efarmu is a business entreprise run by Brenda Kembabaziwho is pursuing Master of Science in Animal nutrition.She has developed a dairy cattle farm managementsoftware that aims to improve efficiency and boostherd growth of dairy agripreneurs. With her backgroundin animal nutrition, she strives to make dairy farmingprofitable for farmers by tracking all farm records andvisualizing them into real-time reports and analytics.The system offers a simple cost-benefit analysis fora farmers’ dairy venture offering a sustainable farmmanagement solution. It enables farmers to run theirventures as a business that increases productivity andprecision in decision-making, contributing to striving forzero hunger.
Farm dairy management software which is a recordkeepingand analysis tool that has six modules; animalregistry, milk management, health module, financemodule, breeding module and feeding module.
This software can be used on a range of devicespowered by cloud storage that eliminates data loss risk.The student has also developed an offline version ofthe software for farmers located in poor network areasoffering the same benefitEfarmu is a comprehensive, effective, simple andtailored made software that focuses on the needs ofdairy farmers and farm managers. The business reachestheir customers using three main channels
- Strategic partnerships with organizations thatdirectly reach the farmers and command a lot ofinfluence in their decision making
- Farmers’ workshops where we can demonstrate theuse and benefits of the software to the farmers
- Online promotions such as Facebook groups andour company website target the middle-incomeclass with full-time employment in urban areas andtheir dairy enterprises in their home villages.
Brendah is currently working with dairy agripreneurs inKenya and Uganda by enabling them generate dailyand monthly reports about the performance of theirfarms.
